I was in the 18th , 509th Engineer company PB in 68 through 12/69. I was in a platoon of the 509th attached to the 20th engineers for 6 months in Ban me thuot,. In june or july 69 I returned to engineer hill in Pleiku.
You were the co clerk in 70 of the 509th in Pleiku? In 69 I remember the clerks name as Gerk or something like that. He was still there when I left but don't know when he DROS out. That web site where you saw the pictures were of that in Ban Me Thuot of the 20th Engineers compound. My platoon was there. I was new in country then. Ted the guy who managed that web site was in the 20th at the same time. I never met him but I remember a incident that he was in where he accidently shot himself with his 45 while operating a dozer. Had to medivac him out.
Let me know how you are doing and any details about the 509th you remember. There have been some reunions and there is one this August somewhere but I can't remember exactly where now. Did you know about this?
